Hi there,

I am using the 'new message' function, and then 'find members'..
a box comes up that says it searches by both name and username,
but I type in names from the champions list... and none of them
show up?Huh  What's up?

Some names I tried.. "ox*", "Gos*", "aaa.j" among others....

I don't think it is searching by both name and username, rather it
is just searching by username.  (i.e. it is not searching by the
display name.)

Oh, I see where the confusion is coming from...

Users here, on the forums are not the same as on the Internet Polyglot site. I.e. if you register on the site it doesn't automatically mean that you are registered on the forum and vice versa.

Does it answer your question?

Yes,

In fact, I was thinking about that last night... That is the problem, you
have to register twice... once for the site, and once for the forums...
You can be registered to either, without being registered to the other,
or you can be registered to both.  Plus, you don't have to have the
same username.

The problem is they are not integrated.  I would integrate the forums
into the site... No registration for the forums, if you register to the
site, you are automatically registered and logged into the forums.

This is very confusing w/two logins..... and makes communication
very difficult with other members.

Hope you will fix this.

It's not a quick fix - our application and forum's application use two different databases, they are even placed on different domains (if you noticed, forum is on .org, not .com), on different hosts.

I googled for user integration for SMF (we use www.simplemachines.org for the forum) - there are no easy solutions.

But I'll keep it mind - sooner or later it should be done.
