In this case it's more difficult to make the change because ‘entendimiento’ is also pronounced and recorded. 'entendimiento' and 'comprensión', are good translation to the word 'undertanding', but in the sense of: 'understanding is necessary to reach an agreement' (el entendimiento es necesario para alcanzar un acuerdo), for example. if you want to talk about someone who can understand you and your feelings, you say that person is 'comprensivo'. so, if we are talking about a human being, we say he is 'comprensivo', or she is 'comprensiva'.

I wrote you because my language, Spanish, is one of the most speaked ones of the world. but in internet is less important than dutch, italian or portuguese. and most of spanish speakers don't know english or other languages. so I fell my language is some how left out.
